Clock is a very odd movie, with a very odd premise – but because it’s so unique, it actually ends up being very intriguing, although admittedly also pretty weird! The whole premise around a woman not wanting kids (how abnormal?!) is a bit bizarre, let the women live! It has hints of ‘handmaiden tale’ type ambience, mixed in with the weird trippy elements that feature in ‘Vivarium’. It’s a very clinical, ominous film, with a very intense subject matter. There are a pleasantly surprising amount of creepy scenes – not quite scary, but definitely make you feel very uneasy – the pendulum – say no more. The originality and the not really knowing what to expect contributes to this actually being a pretty decent horror movie.
Kenny: 6.3 / 10
Clock is definitely a unique one! The main character (Ella) has never wanted children, so visits a specialist to see if there was something psychologically wrong with her. She gets referred to a clinic and undertakes a course of treatment to get her biological clock up and running. From there, it’s a slow build up of hallucinations and creepy scenarios – strange movie but enjoyed it. The ‘tall lady’ in the visions she sees is a good addition to push it more into horror rather than sci-fi, it’s a bit different and keeps you entertained throughout.
