This is one of the best horror movies I’ve seen in a while! Loved the concept – an embalmed hand is the bridge between the spiritual & human world, typically ending up in the hands of a group of idiot teenagers who use it as social media fodder during parties. The spirits they engage with are suitably creepy, there are a good amount of jump scares & tension builders, while also having a few shock, unexpected moments that are gross rather than scary, but definitely horrific! The storyline itself is still substantial enough to keep attention with good links between the characters and backstories. Ending is satisfying and ties everything up neatly & cleverly. This is a film that has a very clear focus & stuck to it to produce a traditionally good horror, with a modern twist!

Really enjoyed this one. It felt like a modernized, more up to date version of a lot of other supernatural style horrors that are generally set more in the past rather than the present. It isn’t jump out of your skin scary, but it takes you on a fun journey if you allow it to – and don’t get bogged down on the silliness of what is realistic and what isn’t. The characters are really well varied, the scenes with the young boy – Riley, are great – very good performance from a young actor. They did a great job with this one – ticked a lot of the boxes you want in a horror film.
