“Slow Start, Gets Good!”
💜💜💜
This was a really slow start about a girl with a really slow lifestyle! Chloe works in the archive department of her local newspaper and lives with her nan, so the early parts of the book are mostly just long descriptions about her work, the articles she’s archiving and caring for her nan. These aren’t gripping or interesting enough, so really had to plod through the first half of the book before it started to ramp up! She becomes obsessed with a missing girl case, and goes on a quest to find her. This, alongside problems with her nan, dramas with her friend, struggles at work, it’s a lot of juggled storylines – none of which as exciting as the main one, so having so many does dilute interest at points! Loved the few twists, did enjoy the latter half much more, but needed to be a bit more focused, and have a more likeable main character to really reel me in!
