The New Friends – Daniel Hurst

β€œToo Many Repetitive Cliffhangers”

Enjoyable enough storyline – though it did feel a little repetitive, and not enough really happened for it to completely grab my attention! Phil and Mel were con men, Jamie & Becky were the ones who got swindled, and tried to reclaim their funds back. I really liked that each chapter was from the perspective of all four characters, because that helped to add a bit of energy to the storyline, and each did have a distinctive voice. I didn’t like that each chapter for the first two thirds of the book were effectively ended with “…and we will regret that” or “…little do they know they will regret that” etc. The faux cliffhangers lost impact quickly and it just became a bit too predictable!
