The Perfect Lie – Jo Spain

β€œMultiple Narrative Threads”

Great book – kept me completely engaged, and wanting to read more. Focusing mainly on a wife who is left at a loss when her police officer husband commits suicide out of nowhere, she tracks through his life, past and connections to try and find out what was wrong. Lots of corrupt cops and shady criminals narrative threads, while also focusing on a University student in Harvard many years prior, and a future court case. The jumping timeline shifts are at points slightly confusing, and the Harvard strand didn’t interest much anywhere near as much as the court case & Erin – but still never felt bloated by the plot, well balanced and some exciting twists throughout that kept me hooked!
